I  am who I am.

Driving home tonight , I drove by a protest in light of the recent shootings of two black men. Unfortunately, the tale of inequality within our judicial and law enforcement system is a story I’m  all too familiar with hearing , however today , I felt compelled to pull over and join the protest . I spoke briefly and when ask how do I feel , my response was sad. These  slaughters that have befallen upon these men of color are modern day lynchings ; validated and approved by a defunct judicial system that operates with a racial bias . It’s hard to grasp the irony of this whole situation.  How can a country that espouses values of freedom and liberty still enslave a segment of citizens with words deeds and actions ?The country right now just feels fraught with exenophobia and hatred. Why does my life matter less to the majority just because of the color of my skin?  It seems to be so timely that our country is going through such turmoil relationally and God has me pressing into Him and really studying the meaning of true love. The bible states that we wrestle not against flesh and blood , but against principalities and powers in high places. This is an attack of hatred and bigotry . It is a spirit that  is operating to destroy the minds of the afflicted and of the oppressor. Make the decision to operate in love despite of our emotions . Pray for the fallen and for those who take lives .
